Stillbirth Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have been impacted by a stillbirth. A stillbirth occurs when a fetus which has died in the uterus, during labor, or during delivery exits a woman's body. For help and support, share your experiences and learn how others coped. Don't forget that you are not alone.

It has been about 6 weeks since I logged on. This time of the year is definitely the most busy for me, so that helps me dealing with everything. Being the lone father (that I am aware of at least) on here, I have been busy with sports related activities. Prepared for 2 Fantasy Baseball drafts, been watching a lot of March Madness, and I am also a high school baseball/softball umpire, so I have been umpiring quite a lot of games. That helps pay the bills. Why can't hospitals "waive" the co-pay for situations like ours? Collect from the insurance companies the 80% they pay (or whatever your plan is), but just write off ours. Every freakin' time we get a bill from the hospital, it just adds to the pain.
My wife has seemingly gotten a little worse the last 3 weeks. She had been making a little progress, but there has definitely been a step back on this roller coaster ride through hell. Granted, the last two days have been okay, but prior to that, it was awful again. We have our monthly support group meeting tomorrow night. It breaks our heart to have found out that a new couple will be joining the group at tomorrow's meeting. Tuesday we are meeting with my wife's counselor again. She recently did tell Amy that if she doesn't get any better within two months, she was going to put her on anti-depressants, which my wife had been wanting to avoid at all costs. However, after her very rough week, a few days ago we discussed it, and I think we will ask for Amy to be put on anti-depressants for a little while and hopefully she can ween her way off them once she starts to get better.
I personally am doing okay. My activities have been able to really distract me for a bit, though some things can be tough. I filled out an NCAA Tournament Bracket in John Evan's name (and it did much better than the one I did in my name). What causes me the most pain at this point is still seeing how much pain my wife is in. I do have my moments at time, and yesterday at dinner was pretty rough for both of us. We went out to dinner, and shortly after being seated, two tables right near us (one diagonal from us, the other across from us) two couples a little younger than us were both seated. Each required a booster chair for a child that was probably 15 months or younger. One of the fathers, in fact, brought his daughter over to the other table briefly so the babies could meet each other. That was right next to my wife and I. Why is God torturing us like this? The restaurant was have empty at the time we were there. Why couldn't the old folks in there have been seated next to us. Why did the two tables with the two youngest people in the restaurant have to be seated where we had no choice but to see them? My wife almost lost it, and we ate as fast as we could so we could just get out of there. We were already planning to stop by the cemetery on the way home and visit John Evan. It was that much tougher for us when we got there.
Anyhow, I have gone on long enough for now. I'm praying my wife can get better soon and we can try again soon (she is on medication, as she hasn't gotten a period yet... so we have been told to abstain until further notice).

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
We've had multiple similar dinning experiences. It just breaks us to see happy families when we're in so much pain. I'm half temped when we go out to ask not to have children seated near us.
I've been on the roller coaster alot myself lately. Its such a hard road for all of us. I hope you and your wife finds more peaceful days soon.
Anyway, I really hope your wife starts feeling better soon. Please let her know that if she needs anything we are here for her! ANd you too of course!!!
Does your wife have any activities she does during the week? And ya know id prob just ask not to be seated by children for a while till its not so hard. I hope this week is better for you.
