Stillbirth Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have been impacted by a stillbirth. A stillbirth occurs when a fetus which has died in the uterus, during labor, or during delivery exits a woman's body. For help and support, share your experiences and learn how others coped. Don't forget that you are not alone.
As soon as I was told my baby had died, I said it couldn't be as 'I've already had a stillborn' I honestly didn't think it could happen again :(
One year ago, 11/13/10 we found out my son's heart stopped beating just a couple of days after my 36 week check-up.Two days later he was born. We were told it was a chromosome abnormality.
We had a miscarriage in May at 8 weeks, and then got pregnant again. At 21 weeks, my cervix had dilated for unknown reasons and the amniotic sac was bulging out. I made it on hospital bedrest for 2 weeks before the sac ruptured from a membrane infection and my daughter was born at 23 weeks 3 days. She never took a breath or moved and her heart stopped beating less than an hour after birth.
It's been two and a half weeks since she died.
Not exactly two stillbirths, but a full-term stillbirth and a premature infant loss in less than a year.
There are a few women floating around here who have had more than one stillbirth. If you ever want to talk, I'm here. I blogged my pregnancy with my daughter up until I was hospitalized and then afterwards....I still update it every couple of days: http://ladykate1980.blogspot.com/
Hugs back to you ladykate ((())) thanks for taking the time to reply, 2 & half weeks is very recent X how are you doing?
Having just gone through the grieving process (and still am to some extent) with our son last year, I'm at least in familiar territory.
The grief comes in waves and I've learned to make the most out of the in-between times and recognizing when the grief hits and when I need to cry, talk, yell, etc in order to get through it in a healthy way.
It hurts like heck, yes, but in some ways its easier because I am not charting unfamiliar territory...in other ways its harder because I feel like I'm on the tail end of the worst of the grieving process for our son and now just beginning to grieve for our daughter....it can be a bit overwhelming.
How are you holding up?
All I can say is one day at a time xx
You are so not alone in your grief! I know how tough it is....praying for you....God can do amazing things with your heart when it is broken.
I'M FINDING STRENGTH IN WHAT I'VE LEARNED HERE... GOD CHOOSES ONLY THE BEST TO BE HIS ANGELS...
MY HEART ACHES WITH YOU.
HUGS!!!
