Maybe blankets? That way they can keep the blanket that their baby was in. I know that when I had my baby, I was lucky enough to have family to think about this stuff and I am so grateful that I have that to remember her by. I was not in any state to think of these things. Just an idea.

Baby clothes. I didnt think to bring any with me when I had Brooklynne.

I think baby clothes would have been great too...especially little ones. I had and outfit and then my mom took it home and when they came to take pictures I had nothing but a blanket.

Also - maybe some little booties or socks..something little to keep in the memory box after the funeral.

The hospital and staff were wonderful when we had ella. They dressed her in a little shirt and a diaper...we had clothes, but didn't want to put them on her, she was just so tiny, fragile, and her body was going so fast it would have been so hard to get them on her. The hospital also put a little bow in her hair, and wrapped her in baby blankets, and a beautiful knitted blanket. They matched it all in purple. I smell those blankets and hold them every day.

We were given a hand painted box with a blanket, hat, baby's hospital bracelet and a card with her footprints on. I treasure her footprints the most.

(On a more practical note, some of those huge pregnancy pads would have been great. We had to stop at the pharmacy on the way home to buy some sanitary towels. Also some disposable breast pads. When my milk came in and overflowed, I couldn't go to a maternity shop and buy some, and neither could my boyfriend. It was horrible.)
