Stillbirth Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have been impacted by a stillbirth. A stillbirth occurs when a fetus which has died in the uterus, during labor, or during delivery exits a woman's body. For help and support, share your experiences and learn how others coped. Don't forget that you are not alone.
As far as c-sections. Gemma was my third c-section. Give yourself some time to heal physically as each c-section you have makes the muscle weaker. I don't know what caused Gemma's cord to twist so much. My OB said it would be like being hit by lightning twice for it to happen again. That being said, I don't know if I could ever try again at this point. This is a very difficult journey. Give yourself plenty of time to mourn your daughter. Don't worry about your age because 31 is still young.
When you are ready to think about trying again, see if they will do blood clotting tests. It seems as though stillbirth can be linked to blood clots in the placenta or cord. I have tested positive for lupus anticoagulant and they had me on baby aspirins for all of my pregnancies. Truthfully, I don't know if this was the reason for Gemma's death or not. I had a very active baby and she got her cord twisted. I have put it in God's hands and am trying to trust Him. I still miss Gemma terribly and have very bad days but some days hope, happiness, and faith return to my life.
You are in my prayers...
can the placenta be checked for any such abnormalities thru US?my life is totally shattered now.no hope in life.iam scared for every silly thing now.i got pregnant just for one month of trying but never dreamt ..that this happiness would end in such a big loss.i dont have any words to express the depth of my sadness.i just dont want to face anyone or talk to anyone.feels like they look at me like a loser with empty hands mourning in my own world.
i am still not ready to speak to my mom ..dont know why i just stare at the sky thinking of my baby girl ...why she left me??was i not right for her?i am thankful for this board to let me express my feelings.
After his birth they told me it looked like the placenta was corroded. What the hell does that mean. Months later at my follow up and many many blood test later they found I have MTFHR a gene mutation that causes elevetated hymocysteine levels that can cause blood clots and early/late term losses. I have recently found out I'm pregnant again, scared that it may happen again but this time i have found a great OB and perinatal Dr and Oncologist who are all keeping a close eye on the baby and my placenta and blood levels. They have since increased my folic acid, b vitamins, and now on blood thinners. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying daily for a healthy baby.
I just recommend to talk to a specialist... Get tons of blood work!! Check for factor 5, MTFHR, lupus and your homocysteine levels.
Just remember your not the only one! There are still days I want to trip the pregnant woman I see walking around or ram my grocery cart into woman with babies. Doesn't mean anything is wrong with you :0)
Good luck and I'm sending prayers your way!!
