My husband is hurting as bad and deeply as I am. Neo is his first born and son. Max talked to and sang to Neo in my womb. Max felt Neo move. Max had hopes and plans for Neo's future. Max was only able to find a part time job while we were pregnant. So I worked a lot of overtime to take care of us. Max would alwaya make dinner and breakfast. After Neo was born, Max told me he cooked for Neo. Max was taking care of Neo by taking care of me.
I know we're grieving comparably. It seems to.help to.give him more space than usual, he's heard some cold comments from family and the office. I can't even imagine. My family is beyond supportive and my employer has been outstanding.
This terrible event has taught me so much about my husband. Our experience has shown us how healing our love for one another is. love you all, big hugs.
The final straw was about a month, maybe a month and a half after our son died. I came back from a class early to find my boyfriend in the middle of sex with another woman. We called off the engagement right then and there (I flushed my ring down the toilet in front of him when he asked for it back), and I have not spoken to him since. It was heartbreaking. It still is when I think about him. This man was the only connection in the world I had to my son, and he is not part of my life anymore. We experienced something tragic and terrible together and instead of working through it, it tore us apart.
I didn't date (seriously) for over a year after that. I was broken, grieving my failed engagement and my baby, and just not in a place where I could commit to anybody.
I had my daughter (my rainbow is 3) with a different man than my angel baby. He and I also broke up.
I have been with my current boyfriend for over a year now. We are taking things SLOWLY and making sure it's a good situation for my daughter.
I have been really upfront and open about my angel baby while dating other people. I have found that every single person I have told has been extremely supportive and understanding about my son.
My boyfriend's family was in town on my son's six year angelversary this year. I have a tradition of releasing balloons on my son's angelversary on the Seattle waterfront, and I told my boyfriend that I would meet his family at the hotel they were staying at after I did this. My boyfriend insisted that he come with me- he said he would wait in the car if I needed him too, but he wanted to be there for me and didn't want me to be my myself. I thought it was so sweet of him.
I think that the fact that he has distance from what happened, it wasn't his child, and he isn't grieving that loss too helps.
We had a miscarriage in December and he rarely talks to me about it. Since I went through this with my ex, I don't push him about it. He can talk when he's ready- I have other people I can vent to when I'm feeling emotional.
*huge hugs* I am so sorry you are going through this.
