I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how you feel. My son is turning 7 in a couple of weeks and had been asking for a baby from santa for 4 years. I nevervthought when I had him that it would tale us 6 years of TTC, 9 surgeries, 3 mcs to get pregnant with his sister. He was so excites about her. Now I can't understand how we could have lost her after waiting all this time.I'm scared of forgetting to be a great mom to him because I'm sad I can't be Zoey's mom. I know there's so much positive in our lives but we just miss her so much. I wish I could tell him we will have an other baby someday but at this point I'm not sure ai'll ever make it with all my issue.
Hope your son has a great birthday and that you can smile knowing his brother is looking down on all of you.

I'm sorry you are going thru this..... I dont know what to tell you....Unfortunately I dont have other kids just my lil angel...... but try to enjoy your son..... I know you miss Lochlan.... my friend also lost her baby in January..... she said she stays strong for hrr other 4 kids but that the pain is there for not having her daughter.....
Try to give him.. his time were you can fo things you both enjoyed doing before your loss.... and have your time to grief.......
When I am at work I do distract myself from my loss.... and once i am by myself I cry myself out...... because i feel some sort of relief.......
We will miss and love our babies for the rest of our lives and they will be forever in our hearts.....
I work in a daycare with 10 3yr old kids..... they learn to live Eli..... they talked to Eli...... they have being asking for Eli since i came back to work.... the director before I came back to work she read a story to my kids...the book "SOMEONE I LOVE DIED"....she said it help to explain...to the kids... that Eli had gone to Heaven.

I'm so sorry for the loss of each person in this group. My heart breaks over and over with each post I read. I saw the thread "constantly conflicted" and the sentiment resonated immediately. I gave birth to twin boys on 1/30/14. I am the very proud and happy parent of Marlowe and remain most days a distraught parent over the loss of my son Avery, Marlowe's twin brother. The 1st few weeks were so hard as I grieved for Avery but also felt robbed of the birth experience and happiness of being a new mom to Marlowe. I say often that I never thought I would need my son Marlowe as much as he needed me, but each time he breastfed and each moment I held and cuddled and cared for him I felt a lot better. Thank god for oxytocin! I have never had so much joy and so much pain all at the same time. My husband and I saw a counselor for awhile. Not only was the counseling important itself, but it gave me a dedicated time slot each week in which to grieve and 'permission' to do so without feeling guilty about taking something away from Marlowe. I needed to grieve to be a better mom to Marlowe. I think now I still need to remind myself that I can give time and attention to both of my sons - the greatest joy and happiness can live right alongside grief and despair. Guilt doesn't necessary help me move forward in anyway. So not to sound too 'preachy' but give yourself 'permission' to let go of the guilt and remind yourself it is okay to hold on to some of the grief alongside all of your joy and happiness of your other child(ren). If anyone has additional advice on how to talk to siblings (older or younger or other non-related children) of stillborn babies that would be appreciated. (I may start another thread with that question.) My heart is with each of you.
