Stillbirth Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have been impacted by a stillbirth. A stillbirth occurs when a fetus which has died in the uterus, during labor, or during delivery exits a woman's body. For help and support, share your experiences and learn how others coped. Don't forget that you are not alone.
the scenario she made for me: she got pregnant with this guy she really really LOVES (they're still together). she didn't know whether to keep the baby or not (!!! WTH).
what really FLOORED me was that it wasn't because of the fact that she was sixteen/seventeen at the time. it wasn't the fact that she felt she wasn't ready. (to me, neither of those are any excuse). why she was considering abortion was because her family didn't like the dad (because he is six or seven years older than her and for other reasons...).
i told her that she should keep the baby. i told her that if anything, we (my husband and i) would take the baby and raise it as our own. later, she didn't answer my phone calls or my texts. weeks later, i found out she decided to abort the baby...
almost a year later, she was pregnant again. this time around, she had the baby. a little baby girl. two years later, she's pregnant again...texting me and asking me for advice: "should i abort the baby?". again, i told her to keep it, that my husband and i would adopt the baby, no problem. she said she needed to think about it. she talked to me...said she thinks she should abort (problems with her man not paying attention to her and she wasn't feeling loved anymore)...again, i told her to keep it. she said she needed to think about it...she gave birth to a baby boy...another two years later...she gave birth to another baby girl.
and it isn't just her. i know a lot of people who use abortion as birth control and it makes me SICK TO MY STOMACH. how can people be so cruel? what's so hard about having the baby ADOPTED if ANYTHING? and even then, how can they give up a child they've bonded with for nine months? how can, after the baby is born, look into his or her eyes and say they don't want them?
maybe i need to be there to understand...but i really don't understand it. my husband's father left before my husband was even born (and my husband is the second of TWO). how could his father leave him and his brother? i don't understand it. your ex-friend is crazy for leaving blessings...she'll soon regret it.
Hugs, Love & Rainbows!
