Stillbirth Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have been impacted by a stillbirth. A stillbirth occurs when a fetus which has died in the uterus, during labor, or during delivery exits a woman's body. For help and support, share your experiences and learn how others coped. Don't forget that you are not alone.

Well, I lost my precious Carly on 12/20/09 also due to an Umbilical Cord Accident. I will be trying again at some point and will be over 35, I am sure. As for the research, I encourage you to do more or as much as possible. I have done a lot of reading on UCAs and have even spoken to Dr. Jason Collins himself. In my opinion, he is the only one that has truly researched Umbilical Cord Accidents and for a long time now. The facts are frightening, but with the right doctors, I believe we have a good chance of success next time. If you are up for doing some more reading, I would definitely recommend looking at the Pregnancy Institute in LA, the Star Legacy Foundation who does a lot of work with Dr. Collins, and maybe even hire Dr. Collins himself to join your team of doctors. I am very seriously considering this myself. If you would like to talk more, please let me know.
Be patient and gentle with yourself in the meantime. Take the necessary time to heal physically and emotionally. We are all here for you and love to talk about our angel babies, so keep sharing. We should have hope though, definitely! Big hugs, Stacy
I became pregnant with Sophia when I was 36 and she became an Angel when I was 37 due to Velamentous Cord Insertion. We have gone to a high-risk specialist and he said our odds of this happening again are the same as any other woman, thus, they have not increased at all. I suggest you seek a recommended high-risk specialist and see what they have to say about your specific situation.
We just started trying to conceive again after waiting a year, so God willing I will become pregnant at 38 and have a healthy, happy, screaming and live Rainbow Baby when I'm 39 years old.
My mother did not start having children until she was 38 years old and had me at 41 and a half, and both of my grandmother's had healthy babies into their 50's (naturally too) so there is HOPE for all of us!
Hang in there!
