With my daughter Aubree, I had developed severe pre-eclampsia. I started swelling at about 15 weeks. Now I'm 12 weeks pregnant... And I started swelling. Last time I brought it up to my Dr. She told me that I was a 1st time mom, I was being paranoid. And that I worked 2 jobs. 8 weeks later, my blood pressure spiked, I was having seizures, and my daughter was gone. Before that all happened I had gone back to her 3 times asking what was wrong with me.. I was gaining about 15 pounds a week from swelling. I stayed off my feet and I did everything I was supposed to. The swelling has started even earlier and I'm scared that everything is going to go down hill.. I almost didn't make it through last time, I don't know if I'll make it through a 2nd time.

I have never dealt with pre-eclampsia so I don't have any advice to offer on the subject. I just wanted to let you know that you are in my prayers!

Are you seeing a different obgyn this time? And getting closer monitoring? This happened with my friend, they lost their daughter at 33 weeks due to HELP syndrome so this time with her rainbow she was admitted into the hospital under constant monitoring the second her started swelling and labs came back off. It was a long road but the do finally have their new daughter a scheduled c-section at 37 weeks. If your doc isn't persistant with monitoring I would find someone else who can offer you the testing and help you need.

I had pre-eclampsia in my first pregnancy. During my 7th month I gained 22 pounds in one month, wasn't able to close my shoes or wear any regular clothing. I was worried, and my Dr. looked at me and said "don't eat so much". I wished I would have listened to my gut-instinct and gotten a 2nd opinion or switched Dr's, maybe she would have made it. I would definitely go see a different doctor, and if the symptoms are starting this early I would try to get an appointment with a specialist for high-risk pregnancies. Keep looking and switching doctors until you are comfortable that both you and your baby are getting the care you need!! *hugs*

I have a high risk OB and I see fetal maternal medicine. I don't see the other Dr that was in charge with my Dr. They all promised me that they wouldn't allow the other Dr. in my room. My new Dr. is great. She's told me that if I'm worried to call her. Or to come in if I just need to hear a heart beat. I'm just worried that they won't be able to stop it in time. Last time I was fine one hour. The next, I was having seizures. It's scary to know that it can happen again.
