What to do??

When you feel so down and out what do you do. For a long time I felt suicidal and all I wanted to do is drink to numb the pain. I've stopped. It I still get those thoughts and urges. I keep my self safe for my earth children but when the week end comes I get the kids looked after so I can drink (I don't like them to see me drink). So I have made progress from drinking every night (when the kids go to bed) to just the weekend. But the kids and I miss each other. I do as much as I can on the weekend with them like, the zoo, movie theater , park, buying toys etc but really all they want is me. My hubby has been doing the same thing, but since oct 2010, due to his best mate committing suicide. So he has been drinking double time , but has become alot better only drinking three nights out of seven.
So I geuss I'm asking , how do you all cope. Are we the only ones resorting to this kind of behavior ?

I have found simply talking to other people who have been where we are now helps. Most areas have support groups that you can join. The hospital I had my little girl at had a woman who volunteered to give our baby her first bath and take picture of her for us. She provided us with material and infomation about local support groups. She even connected me with another mother who I could e-mail or call if I needed someone to listen. Maybe your OB could connect you with someone.
Writing in a journal has also helped me to put my feelings down on paper. Afterwards I was so afraid that I wouldn't remember what she looked like, that she had my chin and my husbands nose. So I wrote it all down in my journal. Along with every memory I had when I was pregant. It helped me to feel better knowing I had it down in writing if I ever wanted to read it.

I have faced a similar temptation, to drink or take drugs, esp because I can't sleep. Finding other people to talk to helps. Finishing my son's baby book, as painful as it is, has helped.Contacting people who have gone through this has helped. I can't do it alone. Writing down how crazy I feel right now helps. Reading this blog helps, knowing that other people feel as confused and hurt as I do. Hang in there, and keep trying to get help for the drinking. You are not alone.

For a very long time i found myself turning to drugs when i had my daughter a little over a year ago she was born still July 1 2011 and i am still having issues. I also have 2 earth children and am currently pregnant again and am in a really deep depression but i find that the only thing that keeps me going is looking at my kids and to see that they are breathing and happy because i am their mom and I am the one who does pretty much everything for them both just keep your boys in your focus and things will get better

if you have a facebook, have you tried any stillbirth awareness groups on there? i am apart of the group SOBBS, they are very nice ladies who hold events, share photos and stories.... it's helped me a lot the past couple months. :)
