On 2/25/14 I gave birth to Lochlan William. He was 7lb 8oz and 21 in long. I was 39w1d. I was at the doctor the day before and he was good. Strong. HB was 144, with no indication of problems. The next morning when I woke up there was no movement. I went to doc concerned, but not worried. Nothing could possibly be wrong. When I was hooked up to monitors, and no sound came out, I was sure it was not working properly. No one told me my baby had died, just 'no heartbeat'. I went to the hospital via ambulance to be induced. I was in total shock. After numerous ultrasounds to confirm, I still refused to believe it. I was still excited to see my baby and hold him. Saying goodbye is the hardest thing. My husband and I are trying again and after 10w2d I finally got my 1st period. I am seriously disappointed, and reminded of all the blood after Lochlan died. This is a period like no other... HEAVY and cramps. This comes right before Mother's Day too. I have two other boys, but finding it very hard to feel blessed. I know I am, but someone is missing from our celebration.
Our daughter was perfectly healthy too - the shock is so hard to deal with. I can imagine you still feel it sometimes (you and I lost our babies only 11 days apart).
I had one super light period (just spotting for three days), but then my next period was 9 days long, painful, and just plain awful. And the cycle since then has been terrible too (ovulation felt just like a period without the blood). I sympathize. :(
I am wondering when a period comes. With my first, I had a c-section and it took quite a few months to get a period. With Wylie, it was a vaginal delivery and I am wondering when my period is supposed to come back. I'm fearing it's arrival for the same reason, a reminder of her birth.
