If you aren't sure I'd just call the doctor, that way you know for certain. It is probably normal but it doesn't hurt to ask and find out for sure.

I was off and on heavy and light bleeding. One min I would stop and think that was it then I would start all over again. I dont think its too much of a concern if your not in any pain or bloodclots are coming out.

I had VERY heavy periods after losing Aubrey. I know it's a rule of thumb that if you soak through a pad(I was afraid to use a tampon until my second cylce) in an hour then you need to call your doctor. My periods changed after the birth of both of my children, the last one being heaviest. If you have any concerns or doubts it can't hurt to just give the dr. a call.

My first cycle came 37 days after Jimmy left. It was very very heavy and very painful. I watched for clots or soaking pads too quickly just in case I needed to call the doctor. I went through about a pad an hour to every two hours around the clock for a few days. It was tough.
The second cycle was 28 days, started with 3 days of spotting, and then heavy bleeding although not as bad as the first. I'm on my 3rd which took 30 days to get here and its about back to pre-pregnancy normal as far as everything goes.

My first AF came 37 days after I lost my son, it wasnt to heavy, but a week later I got another AF. I've never had 12 day menstrual cycle. I hope my next cycle is normal since I really want to ttc.
I guess our body needs time to get back to normal.

I think it's perfectly normal, but if you're worried talk to your doctor. That's what I did. A month after I delivered my son, I started bleeding and then very, very heavily for 2 weeks. I called my doctor because I was worried and she told me that unless you're going through a pad an hour, it's normal. I got my next cycle 36 days later, and it was normal, except that I'm usually a very regular 29 day person. This month, I'm back to 29 day cycles and everything is normal. My doctor told me that it just takes a while for some women to go back to normal. She said I could go on the pill to help regulate my cycle again. I didn't, and it's finally back to normal. I would call your doc to be sure. Don't be afraid to call them because you can never be over cautious when it comes to your own body. Also, I had a lot heavier bleeding my first couple of cycles after birth too, so I would think it's normal.
