Hey there. I have actually never written on this board but do come on it a lot and read everyone elses entries. It definitely helps to know we are not alone in this. . I lost Kendall on June 13th at 37 weeks. I honestly don't know how I'm still here and able to make it through each day,my heart is so broken without her. I've been back to my doctor a few times and even in the hospital,she had me start Lexapro. A few weeks ago I moved up to 20 mg. .I don't even think it makes a dent in my state of my mind,as nothing can make losing my daughter any less painful! I was just wondering if anyone else takes anything now and if you notice a difference? I'm just wondering if maybe it takes any "edge" off and I don't even notice.Thanks and I appreciate everyone on here for all the support!

I didn't take any medication, although looking back, I probably should have. The first few months are the worst.

If the medication doesn't seem to be helping, maybe you could join a support group or similar to help work through some of the feelings. Just saying or maybe yelling (!) what you are feeling could help. It won't take away the loss, but it might help with things. Does your hospital offer any type of support group for infant and pregnancy loss? Maybe there's a grief counselor at the hospital that could direct you to some resources.

They tried to get me to take some medication. I took it for a week, and felt really suicidal, so I stoped taking it. I told my doctor why and she encouraged me to go back on it and give it time. I still refuse to take it, instead I have started my own therapy thing. I got a beautiful book with cherry blossoms on it, that I write in daily sometimes more than once a day. I find it helps way more then the pills did and my suicidal toughts have gone away.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm taking 40mg of Celexa. I suffer from major depression and was switched from Lexapro to 20mg of Celexa due to the pregnancy. Unfortunately, this does not change my mood. Grief is in a league of it's own. I find staying busy helps most.

I too was put on lexipro. Never thought I would be, had always been a genuinely happy person. Thing is I noticed people, expecially my mom thought I should just magically be ok as soon as I started it...and your right nothing can make you forget. Ive had a great deal of anxiety, no longer want to be out and about around people and I really think it helped me with that. As for the depression...I didnt think it was helping but i noticed if I missed a day I would break down more...

Oh, by the way, coming off of it was horrible. the Dr stagared it...but not enough and I had some serious withdraws....shivers in my head, dizziness...so be careful when you come off of it and do it slowlly.
