Step Families Support Group
Traditionally, a stepfamily is the family one acquires when a parent enters a new marriage, whether the parent was widowed or divorced. This community is focused on many of the relationships and issues that may arise within stepfamilies where you may find answers from some members and you may help other members with their questions.

I remarried at the beginning of the year, I have two daughters aged 13 and 15 and 3 step daughters aged 13, 18 and 19.
the two 13 year olds and the 15 year old girls all get on well. My problem is my husband. When the girls get to noisy, usually while having fun, he will send my two to their rooms while allowing his to stay out in lounge.
I do not support this as I believe we have to treat the girls the same - if all children are creating the problem then they should all go to their rooms and this is where my problem is, my husband says I should back him up 100% and I am letting my girls derived a wedge in between him and I by questioning him.
None of the five girls were overly happy about becoming a blended family mainly because it meant unknown change where they thought they might some how miss out on something. this business is causing a lot of tension, especially between my husband and me
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I feel very much on my own and torn in two at the moment. It may seem a small problem but it is getting out of hand.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I guess I feel guilty upsetting their lives so much, we moved towns to be with my partner which meant new schools and work for me.
We had a nice life where we were and it has been a lot harder than I thought adjusting to our new schools, job and living arrangement. I love my husband very much and I will do whatever it takes to make this marriage successful so will make communication a priority.
One on hand I am pleased to hear that it takes longer than 5 months to adjust because that reassures me we can make it work but on the other hand the thought of it taking years scares the hell out of me!
