So here is the situation, I just turned 18 a couple weeks ago. I have been thrown into the role of motherhood about two-three months ago to my future 3 year old step son. (We are due to be married in two weeks). We were living with my parents for a while, away from his son but we decided it would be best for everyone that we move in with his parents. (Where his son has been living for a couple years). My problem here is I am stuck, at home with not just my step son, but his aunt and uncle that are one and two years older than him. I was suddenly thrown into being a mommy to three kids that young, and I hear my mother in law complaining about how I raise my son all the time. For example, I try to yell at her kids for attacking mine (yes they are violent) and they go running to mommy to save them. I yell at mine for doing something and set him on time out and I hear her complaining to my fiance that our son is ALWAYS on time out. I found that he is misbehaving only around the other two because I took him out to my mothers for christmas and he was fine. I even took him to a Christmas party with other little ones his age and he was fine. So I keep trying to bring up the fact that he will do better when he is on his own but then it upsets my fiance. I feel helpless to whats going on, when I first started this I was told the only way he listens is by ass whoopings. Im fine with if he does something outrageously bad whoop him and set him on time out, but I have figured out that when he misbehaves its either time out or ass whoopings and since she keeps complaining about the time out all the time I find myself having to hit him to get him to behave. I hate what Iv become but I feel like peer pressure is crushing me onto him. I love him like he is my own son, he calls me mommy (His biological mommy has been completely out of the picture since 3 months old) and I feel like we are an actual family, like I have always wanted. But its just hard with other people telling me how to raise him and my fiance noticed the other day that Im being extremely mean to him but I feel like there is nothing I can do about it. They let him destroy things and when I punish him I look bad. Often times I yell at our son and he climbs into my fiance's lap and my fiance says "hunny come on, he's just a baby". I just dont know what to do, I cant let him run wild because then I get yelled at for not watching him, and whenever/if we get our own place then he'll think he can there too. I cant yell at him because I'll be criticized on that too. I need help and I have no where left to turn.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
BIG MISTAKE. It does NOT get better; it makes the situation worse. This has got to be something to work out BEFORE the wedding, not afterwards. It is much harder to get out of a bad situation with a wedding ring on your finger. This is not a healthy situation. Think long and hard before taking the vows. Wait until the 2 of you can be independent of his family and you're raising your fiance's son, not the rest of his crazy family.
