my husband's child contacted him...

Christmas Eve of this year, my husband received a FB post from his 32 year old daughter that he apparently did not know about! Needless to say, he was shocked. He called his stepsister in panic (he says) and he went and had lunch with this daughter and his best friend met her as well. I was told three days later. We then told our three children who are all adults. This OC was born in Feb of the year we were married. The mother of the OC was a two night stand before we met. My husband got a whisper that he may be a father before we were married and then again when we were due to have our first child. He never pursued either whisper as he thought it was small town gossip.
I am shocked by this news. I know it was before he knew me, however, there is a child walking around with his blood and she has two children (by two fathers). So, my/our children are not his first and he now has a set of grandchildren!
I am the first to rescue anyone and anything. So, I cannot explain my behavior. Why am I so stinking angry? He is now sneaking around calling her at midnight and early morning on face time to talk to her to get to know her. Our kids are not at all interested in knowing her or letting her into our life. They seem indifferent. They have not accepted that they have a half-sister. It's weird! I feel betrayed but on the other hand I feel badly for not being accepting. Ugh! has this happened to anyone else?
We have been married for 32 years. Have three children and no grandchildren yet. (Well, husband does apparently). Don't know how to act. I actually don't trust my husband now. Feeling irrational ......

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I found out about the oc when he was turning 7. Same age as my youngest. I was already seperated from my H because I was tired of his lies. I assumed there was cheating but always got denial. Had no clue about oc.
Ff to today 3.8 years since dday. I have chosen to work through our problems and rebuild my marriage. It has been tough especially since I chose to include the oc in that rebuild. It has taken a long time and hard work but for the most part I'm on the other side.
I can totaly understand where you are coming from. The existence of this adult child changes how you've defined your family and the history of your life. The fact that your H is sneaking around is not good at all. Maybe there can be a comprimise here. If you can't handle her in your life, make specific times and days that he will converse and see her that you can be prepared. Maybe days you work or go out. But having it sneaky is its own betrayal.
The one thing you will need to accept is his desire to know his child. That's something you can't erase. You don't have to be a part of her life nor do your children. But I can only assume that in time, they may want to. Getting over it isn't that easy so for now just do what you need to find some common ground and terms you can accept with your H relationship with her. You may want to browse through posts and, journal entries here to see the huge scale of emotions.
Consider getting into marriage and individual counseling as this may be more than either of you can work through on your own.
He has lied to me repeatedly over the last week, lying about when he found out,(that day, the previous day, 2010 and then 2008!) I can't believe a word, and now I doubt my whole relationship.
He says he's done nothing else wrong, and deserves another chance. Financially we're stretched. I'm already taking on extra work to make things better for us, but feel like telling him get lost.
I have never felt such anger towards him. How dare he lie, and then make out I'm the one with the problem. Life is really shit just now.
