Sports Injuries Support Group
Sports injuries are injuries that are caused by participation in a sporting activity. In many cases, these types of injuries are due to overuse of a part of the body when participating in a certain activity such as runner's knee or tennis elbow.

Hi. I'm 35 years old and I have been running for about 4 years now. I usually run at least 3 days a week. I have done several 5k races and I have been training for longer distances. I love to run. I wish I could bottle the feeling you get after a good run and keep it for emergencies. I obsess over it. When I see a runner while I'm driving I get insanely jealous and I want to park my car and run with them. Now, that being said, you must know where this is going since I'm posting in the sports injury support group. I suffered an injury to my left calf muscle during my run on Monday. I was getting greedy and wanted a time that was out of my comfort zone. I should have stopped when I felt my calf getting tight and aching but like so many other times I just believed that I could adjust the speed or stride to get through it. It didn't work this time and I felt the heartbreaking SNAP that every athlete fears. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow but I'm pretty sure I already know what I am going to hear. It's most likely a torn calf muscle. I'm suffering from a huge depression even before I get diagnosed. I can barely walk and running is out of the question. I am just praying that I will not need surgery and I will be able to run again someday. Running is my therapy. It's my stress relief. It's what keeps me sane and how I avoid turning into a monster when I am frustrated. It took me 30 some years to find my thing. It has done wonders for my confidence and self esteem and it makes me feel ALIVE! I'm sobbing because I'm scared of all of that going away. My friends who are not runners do not understand. They think it's a weight loss tool only and they told me to just watch what I eat and I will be fine without it. It's so much more than that for me. I'm so mad at myself for not stopping when I felt the pain. I keep reading information about this type of injury and the recovery does not sound promising. Has anyone else dealt with this one and can now run again? I need some good news.

I think my biggest injuries while training were shin splints. I used to train on the side of the road in the country. It was the greatest thing. After a couple miles my shins began to tear, so I bought a couple rolls of sports tape. I wrapped my ankles and feet like a ballerina for almost the entire season. It made my feet support my ankles and shins correctly. It is surprising how crooked our posture can actually be. My shins got used to running the correct way and I didn't have to wrap them anymore. So, see what doctor your says and if you could put weight on your calf. Keep it wrapped. Sports cream helps. Physical therapy helps. Good old fashioned heat and ice packs help. Work out your upper body until you feel comfortable jogging again. You'll get better and be back in time, better then ever!!! Best of luck.

I am surprised by people who talk about accidents when someone talks about running. When I hear talk about sports, making money comes to mind. For some reason, such thoughts only cause panic and trauma in others. Maybe because I'm a former athlete. I like this topic, and besides injuries, I can say that sport is a gold mine. I recently found an app with its own tools, and now I want to use this sportsbook management software. I was told about BossAction sportsbook software (https://www.bossaction.com/custom-pay-per-head-software-features/), but I have recently started using their technology for good bookie services. Does anyone else have such thoughts when they hear the word sports?

Hey, I think it is common to encounter injuries when we are associated with sports activities and events. For most athletes and sportsmen, the major problem in the body doesn't arise from injury but rather from not following proper sports injury (https://www.mytorontophysio.com/common-injuries/sports-injuries ) rehabilitation. Undergoing proper sports rehab helps to strengthen the muscles, make them more flexible and increase the blood flow and stamina.
