Hi there,
I am a 39 year old male who on Oct 13 had a full tendon rupture of my Achilles tendon while playing tennis. I had surgery on Oct 18 so I am now 5 weeks post op. Just wondering out there if anyone else is or has gone through this sort of thing. I have been off work now for 6 weeks and will not be back for another 10 weeks. This is one of the most frustrating injuries I have had as it is not only very painful but mentally draining as the recovery is a very very slow process. If there is someone out there who is in the same hole as me please drop me a line...it would great to compare notes.
Cheers

I went to the doctor a while ago to see about my allergies. He rubbed my arm and stuck things under the skin. Nothing. He poked and prodded, his phlebotomist drew so much blood people thought that we were dating. The tests all came back negative. Then one day I went back and I told him that I had found the cause of my allergy. It turns out, I am allergic to betrayal.

This isn't really bipolar related but there is never anyone on the parenting groups, this is the most active group I've been in.My 6yr old son has really bad seasonal allergies and they're in full force right now. He gets a terrible cough; he coughs all day and all night, making it hard for him to sleep, and his nose runs.I've tried every allergy medicine, OTC and RX, and none of them affect his...
I tore mine July 27 and I am going for surgery tomorrow!
I'm new to this group, but I'm in the same boat as you. This is the second time that I've torn/damaged my Achilles' tendon this year. I'm struggling emotionally with it this time! I go back to the dr on Friday this week as it'll be 7 weeks since injury this time. Dr is thinking since we've been very conservative with the healing process that it may be time to do the debris surgery( meaning fix the million micro years and clean out all of the scar tissue and fluid). I'm voting yes, but there is an 18-24 month recovery period. My husband is voting no!
Not sure what to do. Keep hoping for it to heal? Or have the surgery and let it heal that way. Ugh
