Spouses and family members of people who have borderline personality disorder (BPD) are often victims of violent behavior, and frequent physical and emotional abuse . There is typically conflict in the relationship and in the individuals who are committed to maintaining the relationship in the presence of this disorder.
i keep dreaming about my boyfriend in some form or another.
i had a dream he was somebody else and i kissed him but it was still him. woke up feeling like i had betrayed him somehow...
i had a dream he was sailor jerry (you know, the rum tattoo artist guy), and was missing an arm. we were laying in bed together and cuddling.
i had a dream that we fell out of love and were both devastated but there was nothing we could do to get the love back. the dream made my whole day very difficult and i called the bf and cried my heart out. i still feel extremely sad when i think about this dream.
i had a dream that my boyfriend's disorder had taken the form of a child that he took with him everywhere in search of somewhere they could belong.
maybe it's just anxieties and sorrow provoked by our having been physically apart for so long. maybe it's a part of healing and recovery from the trauma of having lived with him and his wounds for a year of insanity. but i put a lot of value on dreams, and i think they are showing me things that my conscious mind is too distracted to notice. so if anybody has any input, i would surely appreciate it.

there definitely has been a withdrawal period. but i love the peace i have in being able to do my own thing. i only hope i'm tough enough to hold out. because, so far, standing my ground while expressing concern for his emotions has actually created some changes in his behavior toward me. then again, he's over a thousand miles away right now...
the past couple weeks i've just been dreaming about lots of smooching... ;)
