Very wise idea, after seeing my brother 2 days ago, who is a walking corpse from smoking. That is reality. All restaurants have just become smoke free in our state.

That sounds like a great idea .. Through some research of my own, I recently learned that s smoker of 25 yrs is 60-70 times MORE likely to contract Multiple Sclerosis than a non smoker.

I wish they would have printed that on cig packs instead of "The surgeon general has determined that cigarette smoking is harmful to your health if you are pregnant." I would have listened more.

Excellent idea although pro smokers will be annoyed about it - it's hard to ignore when it's staring you in the face so hopefully it'll make people think each time they look at them.

LovesJesus .. just google "MS SMOKING" ... and research from there. You will find many different 'theories' on the subject but the one that I found said 60-70% more. I copied the info and pasted it into an email to my friends / family.

wow, that is some serious pro-quit advertising going on..ew. i have to say..as a smoker those printed warnings bothered me from time to time to read..but after a while i didnt even notice them anymore. maybe a 'NEW' type of warning will renew the noticeablility of the warning. i hope more and more smokers notice it and take it to heart. hopefully it will plant the seed for more to quit. viv, is this just in the UK..or will they be doing it in the US as well? what brand or brands are doing it? i dont know why, but i cant see phillip morris doing this...

If someone wants to smoke they will regardless...I think...because no matter what....I did until I wanted to quit....

thanks for that link dunsmokin..i watched it. i wish they would do something like that here. it is easier to ignore black and white words on the side of the pack that it would be to ignore a color photo of a rotting lung or caner mass..

Wow, have we all forgotten so quickly? It is a drug addiction. Scare tactics don't work on most people once they are hooked.
Take them off the market.

I imagine that will be a good deterent for some, but I'm also in agreement with pressingmyway.... when I was smoking, I woulda smoked while touring the lung cancer ward at the Mayo Clinic. Yup, pretty bad.

that is very true ptriss, pressing, and bill. im totally in favor of making them illegal. would that EVER happen though? it would certainly keep a lot of people from being able to buy them. although, im sure we would have drug deals going down behind buildings and such to get the nicotine,,haha! i once tried to put a pic of my daughter in my pack of smokes...still didnt work. i believe the day will come eventually when it happens. they got the ads off the tv and radio..that was a big step quite a few years ago. i just wish it would happen before my kids are legally able to go out and buy them!!!!!
