I just got back from the doctors and I told her about quitting and ds and Allen Carr she was happy for me and wanted all of the info on ds so she could share with other patients. I was happy to share. I checked over the bill when I got home and saw she had charged me for smoking and tobacco counseling. I wrote about this in my journal in more detail but I just have to say I am flabbergasted!!!! I felt like I was providing more of a service than she was in this case. Sure in past years she has counseled me on quitting but this year she did not do any counseling!!!!

I certainly think that a phone call is in order here. It's unreal how some doctors can come up with charges in order to make a buck. If your doctor is unreasonable aboue deleting these charges from your bill (and we wonder why insurance is so danged expensive??) then I would fire her and submit a letter of complaint to the organization she belongs to. Her behavior is not only outrageous and greedy, it borders on psychotic!

What Lanky said, or deduct a $ amount from her bill for your telling her about DS. I had a friend that waited 3 hours for his appointment and he submitted a bill to the Doc for his time and it worked.

I did call but I was so upset I was crying and said what I wanted to say and hung up without waiting for a reply, I like that idea about billing her, I will pay my bill in full and then send her a bill for twice that amount because I think the service I provided is priceless as far as I am concerned!!!

I think I am stressing more about having to get a new doctor. I liked my doc up until this point and now I feel diffently..... :(

i agree with everyone bill you doctor or call them and see if you can have it deleted. it is unreal what they think they can get away with.... we must make a stand......
