Cadre ~ I've been quit almost 2 years and have nasty anxiety which spun out of control on the 3rd day of my quit. I also was diagnosed with diabetes recently.....but it is under control. I will say it takes time for the body to heal.....but it will get there. I smoked for 20+ years....2-3 packs a day :(
I'm just starting to feel much better in the past few months. Didn't realize how crappy I felt, becuz I felt crappy for years.
Be sure to drink tons of water which will help flush the toxins out of your body faster......or in your case, Cadre, will refresh your body (smoking dehydrates the body).
I just read the other day that it takes being quit 5 years in order to be risk wise of someone who doesn't smoke for heart disease and or cancer risk.
We are never over the chance of getting COPD as we have already laid the ground work by smoking. My dad had been quit over 40 years when he was diagnosed with COPD and the doctor told him it was a direct result of smoking. No doubt....smoking is bad for you and as hard as it is.....quitting is doable and for the best.
I wish you both the best.
It tastes disgusting.....but I feel great and welcome the sleep.
