I actually read it a week ago and it really changed my mind about the quitting process. The thing I found, and am finding useful now that I am quit, is learning to let those feelings of withdrawal ride out and realizing it is not as scary and big as all that.
I really recommend reading it.
Thanks for all the hugs and words of encouragement everyone.
Thanks so much Jesse and grannie and the others. Your stories and comments on this board are all inspirational to read.
Doing errands the past few hours has helped. Now I'm back at the computer sans cigarettes and it feels weird to not smoke. The craving is not too bad but a smell would be nice! See how the mind works the smoking stuff. lol.
I've noticed already little coughs here and there as the cleansing process begins and a bit of soreness to the throat.
I like the suggestions of Werther's candy and straws Mayberry. Will buy some tomorrow. And yes, water is a great help, the colder the better.
But keeping busy has been the best aid so far. Like Jesse, I think my apartment will become spotless in a few days. lol.
Funny you should say sleep forerica. It is exactly what I am thinking. I can't wait to go to sleep so I don't have to "miss" the cigarettes and feel the urge. :)
So all in all hanging in there. I hope you are too BF. I was thinking about you as I did my errands knowing you were going minute to minute too today just like me.
The minutes start for you now, Wish and we're here to support and help you along the way with our own experiences.
