1. DRINK WATER Best crave buster ever
2. DELAY Put off lighting up for 15 min. You may find you don't even want a smoke.
3. DISTRACT Find something else to hold your attention. Music worked for me as did singing at the top of my lungs. Long drives in some gorgeous countryside, window shopping, walks with my dog....you get the idea.
4. DISCUSS Talk about your emotions, what seems to trigger your craves, emotional support you get or don't get from loved ones, etc.
5. DS We ALL want the same thing, i.e. to learn to live smoke free so come here and vent, brag, scream, cry, laugh, make a friend or two.
The early days of learning to live smoke free are the hardest. It DOES get easier and quitting this killer addiction is very do-able. I have 6+ years of living happily smoke free after smoking myself into COPD for 38 years. I KNOW you can quit....you simply have to want it!
Call your doctor and discuss a route that would work best for you. Your doctor is MORE than happy to help.

I ended up going cold turkey and have been quit for nearly 14 months now. I am ridden with anxiety over my quit, but refuse to go back and am stickin it out. I had one of those weird dreams last night that I smoked.....thank God it was just a dream.....it just seemed so real.
Hang in there kiddo. Keep yourself busy and know that smoking will not solve any problems.
Trust me......life is full of problems and stress......and for me......smoking only added to the stress.
The first week is the hardest, but it does get easier the longer you stay away.
