I can only speak for the one brand i've tried, which is Megumi. You can order from them online:
http://www.meguminatto.com
They also have a where to buy listing. I've found the product at a local Japanese market. BTW, all other natto products i've seen are loaded with terrible additives. This product is pure non GMO soybeans. Seems like a good company, came highly recommended by a Trad Chinese Med nutritionist i consulted with.
I have tried several brands, and doses, of K2, but it always has the same effect; disrupts my sleep. Even the smallest dose that I have found (10mcg) does the same thing. I am probably the only person in the world that has this side effect when taking K2. Really makes it hard for me to decide if I should take the supplemental vitamin D or not. Not an outdoors person, so no vitamin D that way either. Even though K2 is highly recommended in the alternative medicine market, it is never mentioned in mainstream medicine (never have seen it at local drug stores for example). Makes one wonder how long before they catch-up with this vitamin.
I think mainstream medicine only cares about substances that big pharma can patent and control. Everything else is systematically shot down.
You are right about the big drug companies really causing problems with any drug that they cannot patent. If they cannot patent it, they do not push it to doctors, and therefore, doctors never heard of "it" ("it" being many, many, OTC or natural, medications). Vitamin K2 fits right into this as do many others.
But also, I always have a snack a bit before bedtime with some healthy fat and protein. Almond butter for example. And if i do wake up and can't sleep, i eat something. Def helps.
Have also read that adrenal problems can wake u up around that time.
Just some thoughts
