Single Parenting Support Group
Today being raised by a single parent is not uncommon. About three in ten children live in a single parent home. The most common type of single parent home is one with only a mother. However, single father homes are the fastest growing type of family situation; 60% growth in the last ten years alone.
I am a single mother of the one year old boy. In my family we had girles for the last 30 years so it was scarry for me to have a boy. I just didn't know what to do with boys. From that I been told at work ( I work mostly with man). Girles are easier during early years and difficult as a teenager, but it oposite with boys.
I would sugest to enroll your girl in Little Gym Class. Her is a link if you are interested (http://www.littlegym.com). I see my child really blossem after we inrolled him in this programm. Plus it will give a chance to meet parents like you. I would also recomend HUG programm. I am not sure if you have that in your area, but it a government sponcer programm for new parents. Here is another programm Music Together (http://www.musictogether.com). My son loves it.
Let me assure you, girles are much easier in childhood then boys, it a teenage years which are hard because of all the hormones. I would sugest to just take one step at the time and be there for your child, that all you can do. Let me know if you have any questions. Good Luck.
Keep her mother's memories alive and if you get involved with another woman that tells you things like "you need to move on" or "can we take the pictures down"...run in the other direction...find a new woman. No place for jealousy.
Just from the fact that you posted this, it's a clue that your daughter will be a great person when she grows up because you care so much. That is the single biggest thing that produces a good kid. I see hundreds of kids at probably the most chaotic time in their life, and that is the commonality of the kids on the right track, parental involvement. Go day by day, that's all we can do.
All the best to you and your little lady.
