Single Parenting Support Group
Today being raised by a single parent is not uncommon. About three in ten children live in a single parent home. The most common type of single parent home is one with only a mother. However, single father homes are the fastest growing type of family situation; 60% growth in the last ten years alone.
I wouldn't feel comfortable with it.
It's possible that in your situation his behavior reflects the way he wants people to see him, or the way he wishes things were, or the way he wants to see himself.
But still, if he's posting presenting his relationship as something other than what it actually is then I'd be concerned. Of course if you confront him about not seeing his son, he might ask to set up a visit. So you might want to know ahead of time how you want to handle that.
Best wishes.
I don't know if your ex's reasons are as nefarious as these, but I agree with both Breyl367 and Singlemom76. That doesn't seem normal. If you feel uncomfortable don't ignore that because mom instincts are usually right. Be mindful that your child might like seeing his dad post pics of him but if he doesn't, then do something because your child doesn't deserve to be reduced to a tool for satisfying his dad's delusions. Also, yes, if I were you I'd talk to my mom and set some new boundaries. She needs to respect what you say is best for your child because you are raising him and with him every day.
