Single Parenting Support Group
Today being raised by a single parent is not uncommon. About three in ten children live in a single parent home. The most common type of single parent home is one with only a mother. However, single father homes are the fastest growing type of family situation; 60% growth in the last ten years alone.
My ex, the father of my little one has been moved out for over 2 years now. Me personally im happy he is gone.
He has zero interest in how she is doing and ignores or walks away when I am talking about her and giving updates.
I am going to continue to do what I do and keep getting her involved in things she needs for her development and play. And love of course:)
It still upsets me how he is. And my friends and family keep telling me to let it go and say he is a sperm donor.
Welcome.
Sorry to hear you are finding yourself in this situation, but good for you for trying to figure out the best way to move forward early on.
One thing to consider is that your child will learn what are appropriate relationships among adults by watching you. If you try to parent both her and her father she'll (eventually) think that's what grown up relationships should look like. I would say be ready to be without him and start thinking about your circle of support. It's better to have a child raised by one parent who loves them and have other caring role models in their lives, than to have them raised by two parents one of whom loves them an the other who doesn't.
My son and I ended up better off on our own as well. It was hard at first, but we eventually found our footing. You will too.
