Single Parenting Support Group
Today being raised by a single parent is not uncommon. About three in ten children live in a single parent home. The most common type of single parent home is one with only a mother. However, single father homes are the fastest growing type of family situation; 60% growth in the last ten years alone.
How do you create change in a limited situation?

I feel in a rut...and it's getting to me.
I know change is important, and I'll feel so much better for it, when I figure out what that will be. But outside of trying to make or stay connected to friends (that also live at least 1/2hr or farther away)... Anyone have any ideas for changes I can make in my life that would help to fill ME up and nurture some of my needs for a change?
Here's my situation:
-single mom, with my 3 1/2yr old daughter 24/7.
-on a tight budget (not a lot of money for the gas and other expenses of some social activities - and everything is at least 1/2hr away. I live in a rural area/small town).
-I don't have the support of friends or family to watch my daughter, and a sitter seems expensive, although I'm willing to try that at some point.
-work from home (so when I'm not tending to daughter, new puppy, my old house/maintenance, etc), I have to work (the bills have to get paid)
I may have left some things out, but the bottom line is I'm on a tight budget, live in an isolating small town, everything is far to drive to (hence more gas expenses too, if I travel alot), try to have somewhat of a social life through playgroups, FB, but it's not easy to do because of time and money.
I desperately need a change, because the monotony of childcare, dishes, house cleaning, puppy training, lack of sleep, is getting to me.
Any ideas about how I can change things up, given my limited time and resources at this point?

I started going to church. They have child care and I get to be involved in a women's group too. It has taken the importance out of other things like going out and/or dating. It's free and It's good for my kids and me!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
