Shyness Support Group
Shyness is a feeling of insecurity that certain people experience while being among others, talking with others, asking favors of others, etc. The initial cause of shyness can vary. Scientists have located some genetic data that supports the hypothesis that shyness is at least partially genetic.

Sarah: That's great that you got a job at a daycare. I would love to do that although I haven't been able to because I don't have enough previous experience with kids =/ I'm glad that you've had the chance and that it's making you more confident though. Keep trying, and I'm sure that you will make a great teacher someday :)
For me, I've been working in the human services field for six years while I've been in college for my major. It has been a great opportunity for me to gain some experience in a similar job to what I'll be doing and I'm sure once I graduate, I'll be a little bit more prepared than I would've been. So as the others suggested, volunteer in a similar roll, work at a daycare, volunteer for a big/brother big/sister program, become a tutor at an after school program. Get the experience you need before you graduate so when the time comes you'll feel more comfortable with yourself and the job you hope to do. And ignore the people who express concerns about your shyness. I've heard the same thing about myself many times and just use it as motivation to prove them wrong. Good luck!
