Shingles Support Group
Herpes zoster, colloquially known as shingles, is the reactivation of varicella zoster virus, leading to a crop of painful blisters over the area of a dermatome. It occurs very rarely in children and adults, but its incidence is high in the elderly (over 60), as well as in any age group of immunocompromised patients.

can someone help me in this matter
hugsssssssssssssssssssssss
Yes I got bumps after the rash left...but not till months after when I was under alot of stress...I freaked out bcause that is the way mine initially bgan...1 little dot on the left
side of my forhead that I thought was a spider bite or mosquito bite...when I don't get my stress levels under control those pesky little dots appear and they warn me it is time to bck off and chill...
I also started losing my hair on the left side due to the intense scratching so when the itching gets to b too much I try to gently massage my scalp instead of scratching it raw...my eye will still act up especially in the heat and I use my eyedrops that the specialist prescribed for me but I try to use sparilingly as it is over $100.00 for a wee bottle...
I know the date on your questions has been awhile but do u see an eye specialist??
then I ask him about the pain around my eye and he said that was the shingles - so my eye still does not open all the way and still swollen in spots like my eyebrown - and that itches also
Hey Beetles - do you have something to put on the itch - please i need something I keep putting cold water on it but sometimes that does not working - do you have any suggestion - I do work and its pretty hard to put water on my hair when I am at work - I need something at work
have a great week - hope you don't live in the northeast we are having heat - and I told tomorrow off so I won't be out in it and I get my girlfriend mom or dad to take me home so I don't walk in the heat - plus I only live a few doors away from my job and I still won't walk home
have a nice week - hugs to everyone
I have continued using vinegar as a preventative. I put it on before going to bed. I wash it off in the morning. Before I leave the house, I reapply it. I use it full strength. I have since added aspirin to it, maybe 5 with a few tablespoons of cider vinegar. I stir it up and apply it with a Q-tip. It does seem to increase the effectiveness. I even apply it between my eyelid and my numb/itchy eyebrow, but imagine how it would hurt if a drop got in your eye, so be careful.
I don't know if this is common knowledge, so I joined this site to pass on this information for others that have postherpatic neuralgia.
As for the pain, what works for me is to apply pressure with the end of my finger for a short time on the spot where it hurts. The pain goes away, for a while, in most cases.
thank you so very much again
Mike I have to get the vineger and let you know
have a great day
