Hi, I am struggling right now with a shingles outbreak on my face (left side). I had this same breakout back in July when my father died. I had the stress of my father dying, flying to go to his funeral (don't like planes), and the stress of meeting my father's family (did not grow up around them and did not know them). With the first breakout I went to the doctor and was told it was folliculitis. I was treated with an antibiotic. This second breakout I believe comes from dealing with the fact that my brother got in legal trouble. I had cosigned on a lease for him. I had to deal with the stress of being held responsible for his apartment and making my house payment too. On top of that I am dealing with an ex who doesn't think he should pay child support. Needless to say, all of this got me and wham: shingles on my face. I went to the same clinic as the first time. They gave me Omnicef. My face continued to worsen and they called in Tetracyline cream. I woke up with my eye nearly swollen shut. It looks like I have 3 chins. I decided I was going to find my old doctor who had moved. I found her and she was mortified at the treatment received at the other clinic. She placed me on Acyclovir, Zovarax (sp?), Neurontin, Lortab, and Bactrim. She told me it would get worse beofre it got better. She wasn't lying. I look like an alien. People stare. It's so embarrassing. If it is not cleared up by Monday, I am staying home. I don't want the stares or the questions (people are so nosey). I have also been using Aveeno fragrance free soap and Apple Cider Vinegar (internally and externally - began today). My face has scabbed over. I just pray I am not left with extensive scarring. Well, off to bed. I could not sleep last night due to the leaking from the lesions (kept feeling like water trickling down my cheek). Is that normal? I don't like this.
