Herpes zoster, colloquially known as shingles, is the reactivation of varicella zoster virus, leading to a crop of painful blisters over the area of a dermatome. It occurs very rarely in children and adults, but its incidence is high in the elderly (over 60), as well as in any age group of immunocompromised patients.

Now my scalp feels like one global scalp. The primary care informed me that the itching was a very good sign--that the nerves are finally healing, but it is so hard to endure. At this point, I leave it alone. I use baby shampoo.
Any ideas for itching????
My scalp is so so sensitive--I scratch it alot, when it drives me crazy. It is temporary alleviation. Sometimes, I just ly on the beds and reverse my head with my face up and my hair falling over the bed. This feels good.ttiveive, hgtho

My therapist really knocked some sense into me last Friday about my spending. She said that there are needs and there are wants. She said that there is always going to be cheap stuff to buy, but do I need it? The answer is mostly "no". So today, I am taking back some things that I bought online at Kohl's, namely a 9 x 12 rug and a quilt for my bed. I also bought sheets that I don't need...

I will ask doc first -- probably only a spray would be good for me.
Also, take time to do the fingertip massage from the neck upwards, and do your face area as well. I found a hot spot that I didn't expect, and once I relieved the pain from that area, the itching went down.
