i am having my second outbreak in about 10 months of genital herpes. My doctor put me on Valtrex 500 mg twice a day for three days. It is day two and I don't notice much difference. I went to her as soon as I noticed the first signs of another outbreak. I was just wondering how long the usual treatment should last for a second outbreak? I know it should be shorter because they usually aren't as severe as the first is, but isn't three days just a little too short of time? Any information will be helpful. Thank you.

I think everyone is different. Sometimes later OB are worse than the first. Plz tell your doc your concerns. Stress is a key factor in OB, too. Try to keep the stress down as much as you can,k. Take care!

I thought that it was still 10days for every time. Have you ever thought about going on the everyday pill? I was always getting them and how it has helped alot. You also have to try to keep your stress level down.

valtex daily works well especially if you are having outbreaks often..

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
