My dads pretrial is February 13 th and I dont know how to tell my mom i want to go to it with out her protesting. I wanna go to show the family that hasnt been supporting me during this that I'm not gonna let my dad get away but im worried my moms still not gonna let me go even if it is my legal right. her reasoning is she doesnt want me to hear all his charges because im already so broken. I havent seen him almost 6 months and my only chance to see him is in court with out talking to him and with out getting in troubke. i want to show him how wha he did wasnt my fault that its his and hes not getting away easy. any advice for meon how to address to my mom that i want to go without her protesting?

Maybe show her this post? Maybe take her into a therapy session with you to discuss it?

I agree show her you are mature enough to handle it,also there is research out there that suggests that facing your abuser actually aides is recovery,sorry I don't have time to look it up right now,it's sounds to me like you are healing quite well.Your mom should be very proud of you.And kiddos to her for being such a supportive mom,she is trying to keep you safe and what she is doing comes from a place of love and protection.

Thank you for the advice the D.A.'s assistant that has been working with us is going to help me bring up to her that I want to go and the options we have for me to go but not here all his charges I definitely agree I should show her my post. my mom is very proud of me for doing things the right way to heal my broken heart thank you for being so supportive.
