It takes a long time for it to sink into our subconscious that we were abused, and we aren't to blame.
You turn that feeling of "ick!" into purging...which since it's really an idea your battling, only makes you feel "clean" for a little bit....and my guess is the more you use the purging, the "need" for it will become more frequent.
I went through a phase of self-injury in which I did it because it felt like I was getting HIM out of me.
But it didn't fix anything, it's just a temporary fix.
My suggestion is to ride through the feeling, pay attention to it, feel it...and then do the opposite-that is, be nice to yourself.
Not easy, that. Expect slippage and be gentle to yourself, OK? You deserve gentleness. (((hugs)))
I was afraid of my sexuality and I think by controlling my body weight to the extreem that I did I was trying to objectify my body. As I have gotten older and have developed some coping skills I no longer find binging and purging to be a need. I like who I am and therefore no longer wish to be so harsh on my self. That's not saying that I don't go on an ice cream rampage now and then but I have learned to live with feeling full and maybe my jeans getting a little snug when I do that :)
