I don't think that whether we talk about it or not changes whether one would associate this bad experience with an individual or the entire sex, for me unfortunately I had several abusers and most were male.
We all do whatever we need to do to get on with our lives, its survival...and we need to function. When you are in a place that you feel safe you may feel the desire to speak.

i have to say i cant be intimate with males no more i can speak to them but cant laugh or joke or anything with them
if there is any advice out there i would not mind knowing the solution aswell
I do what you do though, I think it is important that you talk about it, keeping it locked in the back of your mind does more damage in the long run, makes it harder to cope with.
