I agree with you 100% that this sends completely the wrong message and sets the wrong precedent. Boys absolutely need and deserve to be protected as much as girls.
Turn the table, it's ok, you can't rape a boy... Boys are always the rapist, not the victim... Part of the reason I never told, knew no one would believe me...
These are the same type of ppl who are now claiming that the boy/girl/child love groups should be legal cause they 'protect kids from abusers'.. They also claim it's a 'sexual orientation' just like being gay or lesbian...
Kinda sounds like a person on this site who has this same thinking, and isn't creating victims if he doesn't touch them...
Sorry, my rant...
Maybe I shouldn't had come on here today..
The NSPCC in my country is screaming out for this poor boy to be offered the support he needs to cope with what has happened. I think he was very brave to report it and to go to court, the justice system has completely let him down thanks to the archaic views of one (male) judge. I can't help but think this would have been different if the judge had been female. Probably a stereotype assumption on my part, but there it is.
How sad that this goes on today. How sick. How terribly sick. The babysitter is an adult and should be prosecuted.
To your point Elslok, how many teachers routinely are now busted for having sex with their underaged students, mostly female teachers, and most of them are given light to no sentences.
How about our clergy, and how they are protected?
Just google "teachers accused of having sex with their students", and you will not have enough time in your life to read about them all.
