Hi Folks!
You may or may not know me, but my name is Jesse and I work here at DailyStrength. I'm writing to let you know that we're looking to add a Community Leader to the Sexual Abuse Support Group -- so we'd like to know if you want to become one!
In case you're not already familiar with what Community Leaders do, they're vibrant members who volunteer to greet new folks to the group, offer positive and constructive advice in discussion posts, and help steer negative topics back on track (and occasionally close a clearly abusive discussion post, which is very rare in this group). You can learn more by clicking here:

If you have any questions or are interested in becoming a volunteer CL, please send me a private message with the subject heading of "CL for Sexual Abuse". DS staff will then review the candidates.
To be considered for the role of a CL, we'd like to ask that you:
1. Be okay with having a profile privacy setting of either "Everybody" or "DS Members". That way new members can greet you back!
2. Have not received prior warnings from DS for violations of the Rules of the Road.
3. Have been an active member of the Sexual Abuse support group for at least six months.
I'll leave this post up for a few days, and I might bump it up every once and a while so it stays on the main page.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. :)

I am totally overextended. But for the others, can you say what this means in terms of time commitment? Is there any compensation? Just trying to protect my peeps.

As I understand it, the only commitment is the time you choose to devote to DS and the only compensation is the reward and satisfaction that comes from helping to keep DS a safe, effective and rewarding community.

I think it's moving the original post to the top of the discussion list. I'm not a sexual abuse survivor, my son is and I check this board to get his possible perspective on things since it's not easy for him to talk to me about it. Therefore I am not really a good candidate for the CL, but I do get alot of help from you all on this board, so thanks, and you're all in my thoughts and prayers.
Jesse
Thanks to all who wrote in! More info soon!
