My father was never charged with raping me. They told me I was too old to be afraid to tell him no even though he had beat me all my life and threatened my sister with a gun.
They charged him with incest and I hate that term.

What he did to me was RAPE. Incest makes it sound better then it was. He knew how to push all my buttons to make sure I was terrified without actually threatening me at the time. He was a manipulative SOB.

He was a drunk and a coward that love to pick on little kids. I just wish I had seen what a coward he was at the time.

They need to stop calling it incest and start calling it what it is "RAPE"

That's bullcrap. It's rape and just because you may not have said No -doesn't mean you wanted to. Sometimes you freeze and are too afraid to speak. I'm sorry that you're being treated like this. It's wrong. They should just call it what it is, rape.

Of course it's rape, the worst kind of rape. It is utterly disgusting that they implied some complicity on your part by refusing to call it rape. Any sane person would call it rape.

As for "incest" making it sound better, though, I have to say it seems like a super charged and hideous word to me, especially considering what it means. I hate that word too, because it's so ugly. I wish it didn't apply to me. I consider that both words apply.

Wait, so incest if consensual is ok? Total BS I don't care if is, it should be rape no matter what! No matter what age either party is, or anything! Incest IS rape... DUH

Like calling rape 'sex'.... No, sex is what loving people do, rape is attacking the other person!! No 'love' about it!!
