having a really hard time..

I have been really depressed and very overwhelmed lately. I can't stand anything. My friends who are amazing, can't even bring my spirits up anymore. I am having a really hard time with my job. I cut my hours big time, but even still when I do have to go to work I get extremely anxious. The entire time at work I feel very edgy and feel like I could break down and cry at any minute. I want to quit my job and just settle for a while. Anyone else that felt this way with having to work while sorting big issues out? What should I do?

Yes talk with a counsler seek some support from one too. I also ended up seeing a doctor and they put me on medication for panic anxiety type attacks and depression I was going through. Good luck to you hope this helps you some. I really feel your pain I still feel overwhelmed and upset sometimes , but can't let it bring me down.

I've felt like this many times, although I love my job. I'm all alone so I have to work no matter what. What I do is I try to listen to music and go for walks (both at a time), I write a lot, I have a few meditations downloaded that I like, sometimes I just sit down and pray or draw until the worst has passed...good luck mate!

I agree that getting a therapist would probably help a lot. If you can afford to quit working that's certainly an option, but beware.

I had days like the ones you described when I was working, but I just tried to keep on going. Then I got laid off and realized (actually I had to be told) that I'd been having a nervous breakdown. I wasn't able to look for work again and had to go on Disability, which really isn't any picnic. I'd rather have a job and friends and a real income.

Now it's been over five years since I was employed and even if I was up to trying, finding a decent position like I used to have would be near impossible. As they say, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
