I'm not even sure if I have a right to post here, but a repressed memory came up in which a childhood girl friend of mine consistently groped my breasts and butt, put her hand between my legs, and tried taking my clothes off when we were kids. After I kept telling her to stop, she'd laugh and keep doing it. I was about 13-14 and she was 9-10. I just assumed it was curiosity, but it always made me feel ashamed, violated, and hesitant to see her again. (We were neighbors and she did it every time she saw me.) Am I overreacting, or is there something there? By the way, her dad verbally harassed me about my developing body as a preteen as well.

I agree with lovelilbeany: It made you feel uncomfortable, you told her to stop but she didn't. That definitely "counts". As does her dad's verbal harassment.

It's less about what happened than about the way it makes us feel, in my opinion. I hope you can acknowledge your feelings and not minimalise them as overreaction. Hugs

If you said no to something sexual and they continued thats abuse/assault.

Even if she didn't understand what she was doing to you, its still abuse/assault.

If someone breaks anothers arm, regardless of if they did it intentionally or not, the arm is still broken.

Your feelings are 100% valid.
