Sexual Abuse Support Group
Sexual abuse is a relative cultural term used to describe sexual relations and behavior between two or more parties which are considered criminally and/or morally offensive. Different types of sexual abuse involve: Non-consensual, forced physical sexual behavior such as rape, incest or sexual assault, or psychological forms of abuse, such as verbal sexual behavior or...
How did the cops get involved? Your parents are co-operating with the police right? I feel YOU ARE EMOTIONALLY READY FOR THIS, I AM TOLD SO! If you back down...you will regret this forever, because he will do this to someone else, I feel he already has! Don't be scared...BE MAD!!!
Since your parents have completely betrayed you on this, I'm going to assume that you've been raped by a "close" family member. A brother, possibly? Why do you feel that not pressing charges is in your best interest? If this person has raped you 6 times with no consequences, he's not going to stop.
What's happening to you is wrong. You've done nothing to deserve this. You have the support of law enforcement, and that is HUGE when it comes to this type of crime. It's time for you to stand up to your rapist and take your life back.
The detective must believe there is a very STRONG case, as sex crimes can be very hard to prove legally.
Is there some kind of support or advocacy in your area designed to inform and support survivors in legal cases? I think u would benefit from someone who has knowledge and understanding in these areas and will be there just for YOU, to carry out yr wishes.
I know you are very afraid right now, but suicide is not an option.
I believe pressing charges to be the right path. You were never ready to be raped, but you survived. You need justice. You need freedom. You need to get mad. You need to realise how innocent you are.
You've survived rape, you've survived the betrayal of your family. YOU WILL SURVIVE THIS.
You do need to TRUST yourself and your supporters that this is the right path, because it is.
I understand your feelings about lack of control, your right this is one thing you should have a say in - take back your control and say yes to charges.
take care xxxxx
If you back down now, you may regret it later.
Do you have a therapist?? to help you go through this?
The best thing you can do for yourself is take charge and push ahead with the officer and your life. this is your life and your attacker made his choices. You didn't ask for this and you should not be made to suffer. I think you will be surprised at how relieved you wll be if you open up and push ahead with the police. Your parents can either support you or not that will be their choice but it is not about them or your attacker, it is about what is best for you. you have every right to heal and live a life of happiness. your attacker is in the way of making that happen for you. And you will be protecting other victems or future victems. If he is doing it to you then he is doing with others. don't let this person take anymore of your life. you are too special for that to happen.
stay in touch and be good to yourself. dying only lets him win. so be strong and take charge of your healing and life..
good luck

I am absolutely shocked at your parents. Typically, when family keeps abuse quiet, it's because another family member is the perpetrator, and the family is concerned about how people will view them when the abuse comes to light. But this person isn't even family. Your parents are committing the ultimate betrayal, putting their child's rapist ahead of their child. I have to wonder if your parents are putting these ideas in your head about pressing charges not being what's in your best interest.
