I've talked to my therapist about this multiple times , but it doesn't seem to really heal the pain . But I think it's because I don't feel like she can relate , and at the end of the day I feel like all therapists are there til the times out.
Anyway, I thought I'd share what happened to me on this group specially because I felt like talking to someone else who understands the pain may help.
This happened about a year ago , but I've never been the same since. I was hanging out with my best friend at the time, he was a guy, and we were drinking . That was typical for us to do. I trusted him with my life. Well I guess I fell asleep on his couch watching a movie, and then I started to have this very sexually explicit dream about two characters I'm fond of. I suddenly woke up and realized that my friend was having sex with me. As soon as he realized I had woken up , he jumped off me and pretended to be asleep on the chair next to the couch. I grabbed my things and left in shock. I didn't know what to do , I didn't know who to tell. I went home where I collapsed in an anxiety attack to my roommate and her sister. But I didn't mention his name. In fact the only person that knows to this day who did it is my boyfriend. I talked to my friend even after what happened and tried to make myself believe it wasn't true . But because I did this I had massive panic attacks everyday . I was put on some medication which did help a lot. Recently my friend came over unexpectedly and my boyfriend confronted him about it. I told my boyfriend that I could talk to him one on one. At first my friend said he was so drunk he didn't remember anything. But then he broke down and admitted to me that he knew exactly what was going on the whole time. I can't describe the feeling of having someone you love do that to you. It hurts so much. I'm angry, but I'm more sad about it because I know that the friendship can never be fixed. And Idk if I ever will be either.

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...

it seems your post title says a lot about what happened to you.
you were assaulted, worse.
i'm so sorry this happened to you and when you were with someone you felt so very safe with.
that had to be terrifying for you, just horrifying xo hugging you in my heart right now
your idea to get a trauma trained/specialist therapist is a good one.
you might even get in touch with someone thru www.rainn.org
they can connect you to some great counseling near you and even have people you can talk with over the phone so you can get some excellent help right away.
this can be overwhelming and can affect other areas of your life before you know it.
it is important to talk to people who 'get' it as quickly as you can.
people at rainn do get it. they are there for people like us after this sort of thing happens - this is traumatic and help is there for us.
you matter.
definitely leave that guy in the dust.
hugs,
you are not what happened to you
I feel for you the same thing happened to me when I was 15 years old. I am not going to lie , nothing will be the same. it took me years to get over. Thankfully I did with the help of a great therapist an amazing friend and a great boyfriend who was understanding. I have gone through a lot of trauma in my life and after all of that I finally got over it wrote a book and became a therapist. However I am not practicing because I live with chronic pain due to a spinal injury. so I will help you out if I can. If you want. Have you ever been put to sleep through therapy so you can work through it that way hypnotism by the right person can be amazing. also you need to sit down and write it out from start to finish this sounds dumb but it is actually very healing. Don't see that friend, he is not a friend to take advantage of you when your sleeping. Unfortunately that is over with. if he bothers you tell him to stop or you will press charges , chances are he will leave you alone. Have your boyfriend go to the counsellor with you once so he will know how to help you deal with your trauma. Don't expect it to go away immediately it will take time. I am so sorry it happened to you. I truly hope you can gradually heal. meds won't help they make things worse. Panic attacks are horrible, they take a long time to get over to that will stop when you feel safe sleeping. question are you and your boyfriend sleeping together. sleeping is one thing but sex is another, reason being if you sleep and have sex it will bring back the memory only be awake while your having sex until your comfortable. it's all about YUO. I am her and will talk anytime .casey.
