Just want to share this, and yes it has to do with sexual abuse.
I got a call from a number in the Chicago area. I have the custom of not answering to numbers I don't recognize, but they kept calling almost every day, even Sundays and evenings. Never left a message.
Finally I got tired and answered the phone. A very professional sounding voice greeted me and told me that my number got randomly selected to participate in a survey from the Center for Disease Control, investigating health issues and use of medications.
Being a good responsible citizen, I agreed to participate in the survey. I was instructed that it's completely voluntary and that I can hang up if I feel that i don't want to answer questions.
They started with basic demographics, and then with basic general health questions. They the questions started to be about sexual abuse. Some questions were very specific about what, how, who, how many times, etc.
I have never heard of the Center for Disease Control making studies about sexual abuse. Has anyone heard of such thing?

The fact that they did it evenings and weekends...how many government employees are going to work evenings and weekends? OTOH, they would be subcontracting.

From reading this study...they would have (or should have) asked you other things about your childhood. They would have asked about physical abuse, substance abuse, neglect or poverty. The idea would be to determine the number of adverse childhood experiences you had and to determine your current state of mental health.
