Sex / Pornography Addiction Support Group
Sexual addiction, also sometimes called sexual compulsion, is a form of psychological addiction to sexual intercourse and other sexual behavior.
Hello everyone. I have been struggling with porn addiction since I was 12 years old. I am 34. I am very religious so no matter how little or how much porn I have seen the guilt is overwhelming. I have become good at hiding it because of the fear of humiliation. I feel like no one will understand and I would be called a pervert. I dont know if there is an underlying issue I have that causes this but now I feel mentally drained. I feel I have been fighting this battle for 22 years. I want help but I dont know if I trust anyone enough to tell them my secrets. I'm to the point where I numb myself so I wont have guilt after I watch porn. I know it is affecting my mental health. I dont know what to expect from this group but at least I am able to get it off my chest. I am hesitant to began the process of quitting because this would be my 500th time. The relapses that I have had seem to make it worst. I need support. I fear that if the people I love knew about it they would leave me. My addiction is where I could go a month without it but all it takes is a small trigger and then I would have 7 hours of constant porn search. Whatever suggestions you all may have I would greatly appreciate them. Thanks.

So hello. I'm just a teenager but I've been struggling with porn for almost 6 years and I'm too shy to talk to anyone about it. Some help might really be welcome cause I've tried to quit on my own but I end up relapsing all the time. I'm so tired of this and I want to stop
Subsequently, I have been struggling with porn for years and countless men are in the same fight. Besides its not a secret that men and women watch pornography and are addicted. Furthermore, I would encourage you to keep talking about your struggles, thus, it will help you in recovery.
Third, you are correct, it decreases mental health and increases mental distractions and emotional tension.
My suggestions, which I am doing as well, is t keep talking about this and posting online. Start looking for someone to talk with who you can trust. It might take some time but there is another person who can help you. As you already know it is not easy but nothing worthwhile is going to be easy. You and I both have to fight and not allow this sin to control us. And staying off social media, cell phones or mobile devices will help keep porn away from you. If you want to chat more just reply and maybe we can keep chatting about this some more. God bless and don't give up.
There are two things that have helped me this past week. First, I confided in someone I trust (for me, it was my daughter), and asked her to help me install porn filters on all my devices. Only she has the passwords, so I can't easily circumvent them. And second, i have started an online porn addiction help program that includes this and a couple of other sites. It's been difficult to be honest, but that's the only way to truly progress. My prayers are with you. You can do this!
