Hi. I am the wife of a sex offender. I am looking for someone-anyone-that can listen to MY story and I can say how I FEEL. Are you that person? Or maybe you are also looking, searching for someone to bear your heart to. Maybe you are thinking "If only I wasn't alone in this I could somehow be ok."
He doesn't get parole. He has to to either get a Pardon (which his was a violent crime so I doubt that will be happening - but we are still going to work on the Pardon paperwork and get it turned in by the new year) or he has to just do his 85% of his term.
He committed the crime on August 20, 2005 - he was in county jail for a year and then sentenced to prison for 15 years and then 5 years of supervised probation after his release. His release date is July 2018, but they haven't figure in his 'good time' yet - we are waiting for his CO to get it updated. He just got past his 8th year in August. 4 1/2 to go!!
I just came back into Lee's life after being out of it for 15 years - and even then I wasn't really in it - a weekend... and he was a mess - but just getting a divorce... he has been kind of a mess since I met him at age 17 - LOL and the more and more I learn about him and his family and the way he grew up - I'm suprised he is alive - or hasn't done this or something worse a long time ago.
He is apprehensive to tell me much more about his past - he said he doesn't want me to judge him or me to leave him - I just looked at him and said, "Lee - I knew what crime you committed BEFORE i wrote you 7 months ago - it can't get much worse that this....and if I came looking for you and we have this relationship now - don't you think that everything else in your past is better than this?"
We talked about the booze yesterday - and he swears he isn't going back (and while he has been in - he has been diagnosed with Celiac Disease - Gluten Free) but he pointed out to me yesterday that beer isn't only barely (I don't drink) - there are others made with rice... LOL But he SWEARS that he is done with all that and it is history - he will not be going back to it - he will not be going back to the drugs and stuff - he even gave up smoking - but I know - its easy to say when you are in THERE - we will have to see how he is when he is out - I see AA and DA meetings a head of us??
His sisters have also said that he started saying that he is never drinking again or anything in 2006 - and if he is still saying that in 2013 - is there hope??
Hi my husband is in prison for a sex offense against my daughters (his step daughters) and has a sentence of 10 to life and it has only been a year. It is hard everyday to deal with this and wonder how it will be when he gets out. I wonder if I can make it through the next 9 or so years. My family has very little to do with me and his family has walked away 100%. I have friends that support me luckily. No one understands until they are in this situation. Reading what you have said about when they get out, that is terrible and I just hope we can get through it. My oldest daughter is not happy that I still have anything to do with my husband and my youngest says if that what makes you happy. I do not tell them about our calls, letters or visits but they know. I thought when this first happened I would hate him and not want anything to do with him, but within a month I was missing him terribly, crying constantly just being miserable that I contacted him and that is all it took. I knew I still loved him even though he did a terrible thing to my children. I have also met through a church a couple that went through this years ago and stayed together. I am going to try and stay but will see what happens over the next few years
