If you have thought about it there are creams and stuff that help reduce scars, they speed the scar healing process.
I have bio oil, which after 3 weeks i can see my scars start to fade, although it says it takes 3 months for them to be fully gone. So patients i guess. hope this helps.
Before you cover them, though, if they're new, use peroxide or disinfectant to kill germs...then cover the cut(s) with neosporin or generic triple antibiotic. Then, you're ready to cover with the plastic wrap (syran wrap, cling wrap, etc).
Use tape (i use freezer tape because it's cheaper) to secure the plastic wrap. Try to use as little tape as you can so that there is as little discomfort as possible when you replace it.
If you use this method for 2 to 4 weeks, you will find that your scars are much more skin-toned (less red), they are less red..and they in general heal much faster.
It it a lot of work to change daily, but it's worth it. I have scars that are flat...that is..normally they would have been raised...because they were to wide/big, but using this method, they are flat and even with the skin...and they heal faster.
Even using this method you will need to follow up with scar cream/gel to make the scars appear 100% flesh-tone. It's best to apply after showering because your skin absorbs more during this time.
Follow these simple instructions..you will see they work. The concept is similar to a band-aid...by covering the cut and preventing scabbing...you will heal faster and see less scarring.
but someone commented that when i'm married one days, i'll make my husband regret having an ugly wife like me coz i have scars.
It's make me really sad.
But i've tried using mederma, not yet see result though, i guess i gotta be patient.
Thanks for all the replies. *hug*
PLEASE my dearling when you get married your husband will be marrying you because he LOVES YOU! he wont care about blemishes and scars and if he is woriied about them he isnt worth it. Your scars show where you have been and how you have recovered. If your future husband asks about them tell him be honest if he cares enough about you he will want to be there to support you and love you.
SCARS WILL ALWAYS FADE TO SOME DEGREE even if it takes many years some of the worst will even disappear from sight.
however, for some scars, the only way to completely get rid of them is with cosmetic laser surgery.
I had really bad scars on my leg - they spelt things too, so I was really worried that I'd never be able to wear skirts ever again - I figured that when you have the word ALONE permanently written on your leg people would start to ask questions. I put Vitamin E (it comes in oil and cream - I think cream works better) on it twice a day which really helped - you can only see them if its cold and you know what you're looking for now. It took about 3 months of doing this to make them fade, so stick with what you are doing for that long or switch to straight Vitamin E if it doesn't work.
We sometimes lose ourselves in the mist and question our own abilities and strengths. We forget that it was OURS. Thrive to be yourself and embrace the beauty of yourself. The more you give to yourself will be the greater healing.
Words you received that may affect you will be in your control, the scars that you see will be less, everything else will follow.
Good luck and more spirit to you!
