has anyone seen this video by madTV ? I found it so disturbing I decided to sent them an email to their main contact address and their you tube account, here it is wow this was a good rant..
After watching your video "tickle me emo" on you tube (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=W7IxliAPjAkI) feel compelled to write to you to tell you how disturbing I found this, it makes me sick you could take such an issue as self-harm so immaturely, have you no basic common decency and realisation of how sick this is ? did it occur to you how upsetting this is for self harmers, or the family and friends or self harmers, do you think it's a good idea to add to the stigma and make the problem of hiding self-injury worse ? many people die from self inflicted cuts each week, do you find that funny ? is it right to promote such a terrible thing as comical ? Ok, maybe you thought it would be light hearted and enjoyable for the ignorant public, a humorous video with no really meaning, I find it worrying a group of presumably well educated adults could create such an immature, un-sensitive insult. I can guarantee you will have met someone who has or still is struggling with self injury, think of your loved ones going through this, how would you feel if your problems were publically laughed at ? do you think it's going to help the already stigmatised subject, is it going to encourage sufferers to come forward for the help they need ? no it isn't. I expect a reply as I find this video a crime against human nature, please remove it.

Starting in the mid-1990s, the term emo began to refer to the indie scene that followed the influences of Fugazi, which itself was an offshoot of the first wave of emo. Bands including Sunny Day Real Estate and Texas Is the Reason had a more indie rock style of emo, more melodic and less chaotic. The so-called "indie emo" scene survived until the late 1990s, as many of the bands either disbanded or shifted to mainstream styles.
