Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
Also, is your therapist qualified to deal with SI? If so, I would suggest sticking with it because every therapist I have ever been to didn't know how to deal with the deeper issue of SI and told me to draw with a red marker when I wanted to see blood (which I did not find that helpful because it didn't address WHY I wanted to do it in the first place)
Just be patient and reach out for support exactly how you are doing now
Ive been to many different therapists, and find that sometimes you have to be very forward with what works and what doesnt for you. If you feel like the therapy isnt working, dont be afraid to say so. You might be able to work something out with your therapist as to going about it all a different way, whether it is from them pushing you more or just using a different style of therapy.
